LASER World of PHOTONICS - what is it and why should you go?

The LASER World of PHOTONICS trade fair will be held at Messe Munich in Germany between 27th and 30th June 2023. And ESCATEC will be there! Here’s why you should attend, too.

The LASER World of PHOTONICS exhibition has been an industry fixture since the 1970s, showcasing the latest trends and innovations in photonics, giving companies a unique opportunity every year to network with their peers, suppliers and other industry professionals.

Why go to the World of Photonics?

In 2023 there will be over 1300 exhibitors at the fair (check out the full list here) with an exciting schedule of supporting events and discussions to attend.

This year’s programme features a range of forums, panels, and round tables, focusing on the latest applications of lasers and photonics. Notable speakers and experts will share insights on industry-relevant topics and cutting edge developments. You can check out the timetables and highlights of these events using the online schedule here and access them all with your event ticket.

How big will the event be?

In 2019 the fair covered 55,000 square meters and hosted:

  • 33,999 visitors from 82 countries
  • 1,325 exhibitors from 40 countries

This year attendance will likely be even bigger, as three linked events converge on the Munich Exhibition Centre at the same time.

What to expect this year - one ticket for three events!

In 2023 the WoP merges once again with the annual World of Quantum show (WoQ) and is co-located for the first time with the Automatica event.

The WoQ fair is an exhibition and demonstration space devoted to innovation within the QT computing community, while automatica is Europe’s leading trade fair for smart automation and robotics.

Your WoP ticket will offer access to all events and exhibition halls, giving attendees an extraordinary opportunity to learn about the synergies between these rapidly evolving areas of technology.

And - check out the World of Photonics Congress

In addition, the World of Photonics Congress is being held alongside the trade fair. This bi-annual event is a major hub for sharing scientific and industrial research. The congress is meeting for the whole week (25th - 30th June)  and attendees of the trade fair will have access to the congress events and keynotes during this time.
