What machining capabilities does ESCATEC offer?

Our in-house machining capability is designed to support customers who need speed, precision, and responsiveness during development and early-stage manufacturing. Our machining capabilities are especially relevant for prototype work, pilot runs, urgent projects requiring a fast turnaround, and larger production runs.

We support:

  • Fast-turn machining projects and prototypes.
  • Simple CNC turned components.
  • Elaborate CNC milled assemblies.

For larger production runs, ESCATEC works with Castle Engineering s.r.o., located adjacent to our two manufacturing facilities in the Czech Republic. This helps us support customers with high-quality machined components, turnkey solutions and value-added services, including anodising.

Precision machining capabilities

ESCATEC’s machining offer is built around defined machine capability, repeatable precision, and material flexibility. Our facility in Chomutov is equipped with three Haas VF-2SSYT CNC vertical machines that offer:

  • Maximum machining dimensions of X = 762 mm, Y = 508 mm, Z = 508 mm.
  • Precision up to 0.01 mm.
  • 12,000-rpm inline direct-drive spindle.
  • High-speed rapids on all axes.
  • Ultra-fast side-mount tool changer.

What materials can ESCATEC machine?

Our equipment is capable of machining a wide range of metals and production materials, from nylon to titanium. We currently specialise in aluminium and are well-positioned to expand our tooling for other materials as customer needs and requirements grow.

What makes ESCATEC’s machining capabilities different?

ESCATEC’s in-house machining capability is positioned to support a wide array of projects from prototype and fast-turn work through to larger production volumes.

This vertically integrated service is ideal when you need:

  • Fast turnaround for development projects and prototypes.
  • Small batch production with precision and consistency.
  • Larger production support through an adjacent strategic supplier.
  • A machining partner that can align with wider assembly and manufacturing requirements.

Advantages of choosing ESCATEC’s machining services

  • Exceptional precision machining: Achieving a precision of up to 0.01mm, every component is manufactured to the highest standards of accuracy and quality, crucial for producing intricate and complex parts required in modern electronic devices and mechatronic assemblies.
  • Increased production efficiency: The advanced features of our Haas VF-2SSYT machines help reduce cycle times and improve throughput, supporting more efficient production than manual machining for suitable applications.
  • Cost-effective solutions: Our investment in high-speed, high-precision CNC technology enables us to offer competitive pricing for complex machining. Reduced cycle times and increased production throughput contribute to cost savings that we pass on to our customers.
  • Scalability and flexibility: From small batch production to high-volume manufacturing, we are equipped to handle both prototype development and full-scale production runs with equal efficiency and precision.

How does machining fit into ESCATEC’s wider manufacturing offer?

Our advanced CNC machining capabilities are an integral part of our comprehensive electronics manufacturing services. This means customers can source machined parts as part of a wider manufacturing solution rather than as a stand-alone process only, making us an end-to-end design, development, and manufacturing EMS partner.

Whether you need a single precise part or a complete assembly ready for integration, ESCATEC’s machining capability is designed to support the broader performance, quality and delivery needs of your product.

CASE STUDY

Supporting configured mechatronics builds with precision control

A packaging equipment OEM needed configured electro-mechanical machines, spares, and accessories available for rapid global shipment. ESCATEC built an end-to-end manufacturing model with agile procurement, machining capability, lean production lines, functional testing, and fulfilment support. The result was a controlled process that kept complex mechanical assemblies, containing hundreds of machined parts, moving from order to shipment with minimal customer operational burden.

READY FOR PRECISE, HIGH-QUALITY PRODUCTION?

Whether you need a single, precise part, prototype support, large-scale production, or a complete machined assembly ready for integration, you can trust ESCATEC to deliver exceptional quality and reliability every time. Get in touch to discuss your machining project.
