JJS Electronics adds DEK’s new ProActiv process technology to state-of-the-art manufacturing facility

Leading contract manufacturing specialist, JJS Electronics Ltd., has adopted DEK’s new ProActiv technology at its production facilities in Lutterworth, UK.

This is the latest part of a large‐scale, seven‐figure investment programme that has seen it enhance its production facilities in the UK and Czech Republic. In addition to adding new production, engineering and development specialists, state‐of‐the‐art equipment for screen printing, pick & place and smt reflow has been installed along with the latest optical inspection and flying probe technologies. According to DEK, ProActiv technology is a breakthrough process technology for the challenges of miniaturisation, ProActiv rewrites the area ratio rules that limit conventional printing with smaller stencil apertures.

Commenting on the addition of ProActiv to JJS, Manufacturing Manager Frazer Hayton explains: “Here at JJS, we’re continually innovating in terms of the services we can offer our customers. For this reason, we were naturally interested in ProActiv’s potential. Having beta tested the technology in partnership with DEK, we’re delighted with the results. We’re enjoying cleaner print cycles – paste comes out consistently so we know that the first print of the batch will be the same as the last. The technology has afforded our engineers larger process windows, so we have more process room to work with. This means we can be extremely confident Page 2 of 2 PR17 – ProActiv November 2010 delivering on new business, with finer pitches and more intricate designs. For our customers, it means we have enhanced our ability to meet their mixed technology challenges even further, including through‐hole PCBA, SMT PCBA and electromechanical projects.”

With facilities in the UK and The Czech Republic, JJS delivers a full range of EMS services including design for test, design for manufacturing, PCB assembly, box build assembly, precision mechatronics and full system assembly. The company recently gained AS9100 accreditation for its electronics manufacturing facilities in both the UK & Czech Republic. JJS customers can outsource projects in complete confidence, assured of the highest quality standards and technical capabilities.
